CHAPTER 21

The Day will come with trumpet sound, with singing and dancing,

With men, women, and children rejoicing,

Singing songs of freedom and with hymns of praise on their lips.

When, O when, will this Day come? How long to wait, how long to toil, how long to hide, safe in shadow?

Armies from the west, north, south, and east will appear.

They will take no captive, spare no one.

Red blood spilt on the ground, in the rivers, lakes, and streams,

They will torment and scourge and turn the sun red.

At the sight of them, the city will weep, moan, and wail.

All will be laid bare. The light will find each person.

Nothing will remain hidden. Nothing will continue in secret.

Tear your heart in two and confess.

Maybe the Source will relent and bring hope,

Perhaps even blessing.

Let the Elders come to the altar and kneel.

Let them turn and present the most special gifts:

Heart, soul, mind, and power.

Then the Source will reply to you:

I will send the armies back to the west, north, south, and east.

I will repair and rebuild. I will unite and restore.

I will send help. I will repay you for the anguish caused.

The Day of the Dreamer is close at hand.

Your sons and daughters will prophesy and foretell things that will happen.

Your people will see visions and know the formerly unknowable.

They will dream with power and in so doing

Change worlds.
